It's been a couple of years since I started drawing now. There was a time when I heavily focused on the how-to of the craft and actually got things done. Now time rarely permits me to complete any drawing beyond the initial sketches. I've continued to expand on the technical aspects of making a good piece of art, but I've noticed that when I draw, nearly all my pieces are of female characters.
I don't know if this is because I'm a guy, but I really enjoy drawing girls. Be it fan art or my own original characters. There's something about the female form, not just the physical appearance, but the gender itself, that has a beauty I like bringing out and seeing in other art.
I was reluctant to stick to one single subject to draw over and over again. Thinking I had to draw a variety of other things to be considered a capable artist, or rather to just be good at drawing. Now I realize there's nothing wrong with sticking with one single thing. I barely have time to draw as it is, so why not spend that time drawing what I like best? Maybe this way, I'll actually finish pieces I start.
So yeah, I like drawing girls. And you'll see more of that soon.
